
If you've ever taken an introductory statistics course, then you are familiar with the Monty Hall Problem. Well, the New York Times has just published an interesting reconsideration of the problem as it applies to the theory of cognitive dissonance.
They've also got a cute little interactive feature where you can test the problem for yourself.

Sixty-three year old Avraham Trahtman solves the Road Coloring Conjecture.
Given that most important mathematical work is accomplished by young people, this gives me substantial hope for the future.
